Support Mayor Bill Wells Anti-Sanctuary Resolution
Mayor Bill Wells of El Cajon, California, introduced a resolution aimed at clarifying the city's legal responsibilities in light of California's Senate Bill 54, which limits local law enforcement's cooperation with federal immigration enforcement.
A radical ‘No Border’ crowd was bussed in to intimidate the Conservative City Council, which resulted in the tabling of this resolution until this Tuesday.
Mayor Bill Wells Need Your Support This Tuesday at 3 PM!
Key Points of the Resolution:
Cooperation with ICE: The resolution seeks to ensure cooperation with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) "to the maximum legal extent permissible." This includes assisting in deportation efforts, highlighting a move to clarify and possibly expand local law enforcement's role in immigration enforcement.
Legal Tensions: Wells pointed out the contradictory positions where the federal government could prosecute for non-cooperation, while state law could prosecute local police for assisting federal immigration efforts.
Resolution's Intent: Mayor Wells emphasized that the resolution was not about turning local police into border patrol agents but about following federal law and ensuring public safety by cooperating with federal agencies.
Illegal Aliens from 150 nations have poured across San Diego’s border, none of them vetted! This is about public safety, not the color of someone’s skin.
Please plan to attend the next City Council meeting with handmade signs and sign up for public comment to support this resolution.
This Tuesday at 3 PM at the El Cajon City Council Chambers.
Address: El Cajon City Hall200 Civic Center Way, El Cajon, CA 92020
